You won’t believe what will power your car battery in an emergency! It really works!!

butter shoes
@greywolf424 ive got 12.0volt when car off and 14volt when on i know my alt is fine but looks like my battery is a little low
@greywolf424 my alternator is (my car is) a 1999 lexus es 300 with 150K miles. thanks for the info, i’ll perform that check.
@zillsbury Your alternator could be dying, how old is it? To test your alternator connect your multimeter to the battery it should be around 12.6 to 12.8. Start the engine and the voltage should go up around 13.4. to 13.6 or so.Then have someone turn on the head lights and heater (full)…. the voltage should drop for a second or two then return to the 13 range, if it doesn’t the alternator is probably worn out.
@greywolf424 sometimes my BEL RX65 says low voltage and shuts off. the highest it reads while driving in 13.5 but most of the time it’s in the high 12 voltage range.
@zillsbury Yes, it means your alternator is charging your battery like it is supposed to.
i got the 12.8 V with car off. when started i got 13.6V is that good?
@nobleheight I have my Automotive Tech ticket interprovincial red seal endorsed
tip for ya… charge and retest if it falls below 9.6 again then its toast
You won’t find that in a text book
You also missed the charge test if the battery does fall below 9.6volts, I can’t remember the time I think its 30 seconds when charging if goes above 15 volts battery is no good, if below its just bad state of charge
@nobleheight 5 tickets? o.O I have my Automotive ticket interprovincial
alot longer to get that one then the ones you go for… How many ASE tickets are there I am considered to have them all plus some
through that meter out lol use a carbon pile to test a battery you need to load half cca
resistance ac or dc for the battey?
who does not have a multimeter and who does not know how to use one? its a house hold item. if you dont know how to use one you are retarded
hmmm.. not everyone has a multimeter and knowhow to operate it.. Normal check. Leave car lights on (without having car turned on on gas) for 10 minutes, then try to start your car.. if it cranks instantly .. your battery is good.. else change it !.. Test 2: try to get a toy that runs on around 9-12 volts.. and try to run it with connectors from car battery.. if it does same thing on regular alkaline batteries for like 10 minutes, you are good.
Free battery testing at an AutoZone/O’Reilly’s..etc.. easily defeats the purpose of videos such as this one. He tries, but I find many things that I disagree with in the clip.
There are several factors involved with a low voltage battery, however this could make the video more complicated than what the title describes.
I considered doing a video for this, and there are so many making attempts at it as well.
Also, if you have a battery hydrometer, you can measure the specific gravity of each cell in the battery. If the specific gravity of any 2 cells differ by more than 0.050, then you need to replace the battery.
This guy is a disgrace to expert village and ASE certification. He’s probably not even certified in electronics/electrical.
Eventhough analog meter is okay for testing battery state of charge, most auto techs nowadays only use high impedance meter to avoid damage to computer.
He didn’t even remove the surface charge before checking the state of charge of the battery.
That test he did is not the proper way to know if you need a new battery. The right way is to use a carbon pile load tester. You set the carbon pile load tester to half the cold cranking amperage of the battery, then you load the battery for 15 seconds. The voltage should be 9.6 or higher during the 15 seconds of cranking.
@DaShadowInc ASE certifications are easy to get. I have 5 myself.
better then being a welfair bum like you cuz yer a crack head with aids
can i ask you a ? is a number 1 the big mac meal, we all know you probaly work at mcdonalds
and i can see you like it in the ass by yer daddy
and i can see you cant spell
I see yer a pussy to
hahaha you prolbaly dont even work on your own stuff, let alone do it for a living
Totally agree, also looking at why it might be dead to. A real ASE would say use a carbon pile to test the battery! Or the trick with loading the batter with the headlights to see if it regains the voltage back in the battery
that meter needs to go in the garbage lol, get a digital more accurate. Also you need a carbon pile to test a battery, if using a meter you need to turn headlights on for 30 seconds then shut them off for 1min then test the voltage of the battery, reason for this is you need to load the batter to test the cca etc. Then the other thing to look at is why is the battery dead, Alternator not working?? Draw in the system?? Just pull the fuse its easier to check.
thanks. very helpful!
im the fat bastard, wheres my fat bitch
man im not gonna know what to do to my car when i grow up theres a bunch of stuff you gotta do to your car
I think this guy is a Walmart auto technician.
i wanna know why you would be drinking, then going to start you car .. pure genius
you have a fat bastard in your car
you should get rid of the corrosion in your battery with soapy water and baking soda cause it could cause a short on your battery and cause it to suck the juice out of your battery
thank god, fat bastard saves the day!
@miniman123ful why are you called miniman123ful?
@luedriver
Do it at your own risk, car batteries (Lead–acid battery) are filled with dilute Sulfuric acid (H2SO4),wines are made from Ethanol (Aka drinking alcohol),when 2 of them are added, the alcohol will Dehydration, and become Diethyl ether (in 140 degree C),Ethylene(in 170 degree C).
And Sulfuric acid has very strong Dehydration rates,it can turn a cookie into carbon.(So,do you want to try it?)
Simply to say:Do it at your own risk
@DaMiStudios not quite, it wont actually charge your battery, itll just help it if its low on fluid (not charge) the vast majority of modern batteries are maintenance free though, so this wouldnt help
@sutty633 you can use it just fine, itll just never be quite the same as new. you can use this in an emergency, then take out the battery, flush it a bit, and fill it the right way
but would the battery die after that or can you keep using it?
i bet this guy is from Fallujah !!!
Probably only good if the battery needs a small boost, and probably takes 5 mins to work but probably great for emergencies!
why is it called fat basterd
would you recommend this on a flat dead battery?
also would this do any damage or stink?
what wher u thinking when u put wine in your battery
i absolutely love twinkies.
haha fat bastard to the rescue
Lol cat drinking fat bastard lol
loloklololololololol he said fat bastard to the rescue but its probably having a burger lololol
lol fat bastard wine
If you want to ruin the battery that’s on way of doing it
Fat Bastard saves the day and money
dun worry I got plenty of wine guys, lets just hope the car doesnt get tipsy.
