Just got one today, its $75 compare to interstate’s $106. It cranks up my CRV right the way and no problem. I already had two interstate batteries in 6 years even though it claimed it can last for 75 months on each one. Looks like average battery life is 3yrs. If this one can last 3yrs then I am happy, will see.

Here’s what I believe makes car battery buying such a hassle. The same brands, DON’T stay the same. Three years ago the battery you bought may have been the greatest thing on the planet: Today; it might be the biggest POS available. This is what Consumer Reports states, and they test the things every year or so. Interstate batteries come to mind: After they were out a while, they were widely recognized as the best thing you could put in your vehicle: NOT ANY MORE — THEY’RE MISERABLE!! I confirmed this through my mechanic. (Who better to ask, than someone who has to deal with them for a living?) He has no tolerance for manufacturers that make him have to do an installation twice, (he only gets paid once) because their product was junk! Inferior products make everyone unhappy: The mechanic, the place that sold it, and most importantly, the consumer, me and you! So today (literally), my mechanic said that he’s been using Deka batteries (Merle’s Auto Parts) and also Carquest batteries, for the past year without problems. I know that in the recent past he was also having good success with Autozone stuff, though now that I think of it, that may have just been other parts (Duralast specifically). I’m sure there are other good batteries out there; that’s why I use Consumer Reports…And they will tell you straight out: Just because a particular brand scores well in one size (group number), absolutely does NOT mean it scores well in other sizes!! Hey Klaw, you bought on 8/14/09 and it died on 9/27/11? That’s over 2 years. Why would you expect a pro-rata past the 2 year waranty?

I bought mine in Jan 2008 and it is just now starting to die, so it has lasted well over the 2 year warranty. I’ve put 75k miles on my car since replacing driving in Las Vegas heat. You can’t beat the price for performance. My wife’s car has an Autozone battery that I have to replace every year and have for the last 5 years. They replace for free, but it is such a hassle.

I bought a Everstart battery on 8/14/09. It died on 9/27/11. I returned the battery at the local Wal-Mart thinking that I would get at least a pro-rated credit on the battery as it had a 2 year warranty on it. Guess what, no pro-rated credit. I had to go out and buy a new battery at full price. Can you guess the brand on the new battery? It WASN’T an Everstart! Guess it’s true, you get what you pay for.

For a 2004 Toyota Camry. The first Everstart battery did not make it a year. When they installed a new replacement they peeled the year and month sticker off the old battery and stuck it on the one they were installing. They said I was only covered from my initial purchase and that they would not warranty the 2nd battery for another replacement period.

I heard later that it was illegal to do that but I didn’t have a clue at the time and I was stranded so they had me over a barrel anyways. The second Everstart lasted another couple of years and is now dying fast.

I live in the Phoenix Metro area and the heat here does literally sucks batteries dry. However, I do know that I will not be replacing another battery at Walmart again and will probably go with one from Auto Zone.

I purchased the EVERSTART Plus at Walmart with Cold Cranking Amps of 500. It works great since my other stock battery went out. I purchased it for $72.96 and it has a 24 month warranty from Walmart. Walmart gives you back $9.00 for the Core (old battery).

The battery sucks. I bought the Evermaxx car battery for $77 and it died like 3 months after. Walmart won’t refund it and they even charged me an extra $5 because the price rose (It was advertised as 3yrs free replacement). Do yourself a favor and either go to Sears for their DieHard or Autozone for their batteries.

From the looks,its quite credible that this setup will work.Well,its highly bound to fail for 2 reasons:
1.The ups internal circuitry was designed to run for abou 10min so its will definitely overheat and fail(by V transformation)
2.The 75ah battery cozez X30 more stress to the charging circuit of the ups than it was designed to take = fried charging circuit over time,unless it has a current limiter.
I have this setup and I was forced to use 8 gauge wire and a fan+disabled internal time limiter
